MEET THE DOCTORS
Dr. Leila Younger
Dr. Younger is a board-certified pediatric dentist with more than 20 years of experience. After earning her undergraduate degree in Biology and her dental degree from the University of Illinois, she completed her clinical training at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr. Younger also has her Master’s degree in pediatric dentistry from Northwestern University.
Dr. Younger serves on the board of directors for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
When she’s not treating patients at Smiles for Kids, she can be found teaching at the University of Southern California and visiting her two children who reside in Los Angeles. Dr. Younger also enjoys hiking and biking with her husband as well as traveling for medical mission trips to provide dental care in underserved areas.
Dr. Megan Davenport
Dr. Davenport is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She grew up in South Bend, Indiana and attended the University of Notre Dame where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology. She then graduated with high distinction for Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. After working for two years at a community health clinic in central Wisconsin as a general dentist, Dr. Davenport completed pediatric specialty training in Milwaukee at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
Dr. Davenport takes pride in providing exceptional dental care to children in a compassionate, gentle way. It is her priority to help children feel safe and at ease while at the dentist so that they can have a positive and fun dental experience.
In her spare time, Dr. Davenport enjoys baking, college football (Go Irish!), traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Nick Riccio
Dr. Riccio is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. He completed his orthodontic residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Riccio is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is also certified in Damon System braces, lingual braces, laser treatment, and Invisalign®.
What Dr. Riccio enjoys most is the challenge of creating the best smile and bite possible for people with all shapes and sizes of crooked teeth, all while making it fun for patients and families to come see him. His treatment philosophy is to provide the highest level of orthodontic care for patients of all ages, using the best technology and most advanced techniques available. The comfort of his patients and the speed of treatment is also a top priority for Dr. Riccio.
In his spare time, Dr. Riccio loves runnings, rock climbing, skateboarding, watching movies, traveling, and eating his way through the Chicago food scene with his girlfriend. He is fluent in Spanish, loves teaching, and has a dental implant due to a sledding accident as a child.
Dr. Jessica Mattern
Dr. Mattern is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She was raised in Phoenix, Arizona and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona, receiving a bachelor of science in Physiology. She received her D.D.S. from Creighton School of Dentistry and went on to complete her pediatric specialty training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. After completing her training Dr. Mattern was happy to call Chicago home as she has many family members in the Chicago area.
Dr. Mattern is committed to providing her patients with the highest quality of dental care. She strives to make every visit enjoyable and loves to see her patients smile.
Dr. Mattern enjoys teaching and is on staff at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry serving as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Mattern enjoys gardening, biking and running. She also has a passion for volunteering and has worked with many organizations including coaching for Special Olympics and participating in Medical/Dental outreach programs through Latin World Ministries.
