Meet the Doctors at Smiles for Kids
Dr. Susan Blair
Dr. Blair is a dual-trained pediatric dentist and orthodontist. As an Oklahoma native, she attended the University of Oklahoma and received extensive clinical training in dentistry. Dr. Blair moved to New York City to complete a pediatric dentistry residency at Montefiore Medical Center. During her pediatric dental training, she uncovered an interest in orthodontics. After completing the two-year pediatric dentistry program, Dr. Blair was accepted into Montefiore Medical Center’s three-year orthodontics residency program. During the orthodontics residency, Dr. Blair treated a wide variety of patients, many with complex skeletal and dental needs.
After five years of making memories and gaining valuable experience in NYC, Dr. Blair decided to settle in the Chicagoland area. For her, Chicago offers a deep history rich with culture and the Midwestern friendliness she grew up with.
In her spare time, Dr. Blair loves traveling, spending time with friends and family, and running. She loves animals and stays involved by helping the humane society.
Dr. Blair is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Board of Orthodontics. Her commitment to practicing pediatric dentistry and orthodontics has made her one of the few dual-trained and dual-board-certified pediatric dentistry specialists in the state of Illinois.
Ultimately, Dr. Blair’s passion is helping kids to have a comfortable dental experience while creating beautiful, healthy smiles that last a lifetime.
Dr. Leila Younger
Dr. Younger is a board-certified pediatric dentist with more than 20 years of experience. After earning her undergraduate degree in Biology and her dental degree from the University of Illinois, she completed her clinical training at Children’s Memorial Hospital. Dr. Younger also has her Master’s degree in pediatric dentistry from Northwestern University.
Dr. Younger serves on the board of directors for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
When she’s not treating patients at Smiles for Kids, she can be found teaching at the University of Southern California and visiting her two children who reside in Los Angeles. Dr. Younger also enjoys hiking and biking with her husband as well as traveling for medical mission trips to provide dental care in underserved areas.
Dr. Megan Davenport
Dr. Davenport is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She grew up in South Bend, Indiana and attended the University of Notre Dame where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology. She then graduated with high distinction for Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. After working for two years at a community health clinic in central Wisconsin as a general dentist, Dr. Davenport completed pediatric specialty training in Milwaukee at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
Dr. Davenport takes pride in providing exceptional dental care to children in a compassionate, gentle way. It is her priority to help children feel safe and at ease while at the dentist so that they can have a positive and fun dental experience.
In her spare time, Dr. Davenport enjoys baking, college football (Go Irish!), traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Nick Riccio
Dr. Riccio is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Dental School. He completed his orthodontic residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Riccio is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is also certified in Damon System braces, lingual braces, laser treatment, and Invisalign®.
What Dr. Riccio enjoys most is the challenge of creating the best smile and bite possible for people with all shapes and sizes of crooked teeth, all while making it fun for patients and families to come see him. His treatment philosophy is to provide the highest level of orthodontic care for patients of all ages, using the best technology and most advanced techniques available. The comfort of his patients and the speed of treatment is also a top priority for Dr. Riccio.
In his spare time, Dr. Riccio loves runnings, rock climbing, skateboarding, watching movies, traveling, and eating his way through the Chicago food scene with his girlfriend. He is fluent in Spanish, loves teaching, and has a dental implant due to a sledding accident as a child.
